The installation of embossed artist-made paper painted with hand-colored paper pulp has up to 100 original elements, each 24 x 16 x .25 inches. Here seen floor to ceiling with 54 elements, some are wall mounted and some suspended in front of the wall, creating a physical wave. Light exposes the surface texture of each footprint, intermingling with every other while on its own specific route. They are footprints made by early humans, some more than a million years ago, some tens of thousands of years ago, now fossilized in East African sites within Kenya and Tanzania. Everyone alive today is descended from these shared ancestors.
